1. Until the final assessment
Seeing the news on my web site (refer to “Violation of assessment basic
rule by Certification body” Nov.1w, 2003 issue), a reader informed me
of wasteful documentation systems in many other companies forced by
the certification body. Then I noticed the management representative
to prepare for defending from such enforcement by the body.
He, then, made contacts with several companies which already took ISO9001:
2000 registrations by the body and found they had been worried with
their heavy documentation systems.
2. The final assessment scene
At the start of the assessment, the management representative explained
the report made by the JAB workshop. To the explanation the assessor
answered that requests made by the body were not ones that had to
be followed, but one of recommendations.
Thus the two days final assessment was done properly without the violation.
It was assumed the attitude shown by the management representative
at the beginning of the assessment with his explanation about the
JAB workshop report will contribute for the assessor to carry out
the proper assessment and it led to that the company got rid of installment
of heavy documentation. It was also good news for me.
