False assessments done by Mr. S, lead assessor (Aug.4w,2003)

1. The assessment scene
Mr. S came to Company V for the preliminary assessment and asked a manager whether he had done conformations of revisions of public regulations, because the manual states that every two month he( manager) should check revisions. He answered g Of course, I did and there are no revision.h Then the assessor said g Did you record on paper that you have done the check? To show evidence you should make additional records.h
But he did not agree the advice, because there were no record requirement in ISO9001: 2000 and the person who did the check was the manager himself.

2. Two false ways of the assessment
The above short dialog shows the assessor broke two basic assessment rules. The one is he forced to the record that was not required in the Standard.
The second is he argues with no evidence about the managerfs check. If he argues with his actual check, the assessor first checks the public regulations by himself and if there are no revisions found, he should not argue the matter.
