Company M got the certification of ISO9001: 2000 by the changed certification body (Mar.4w,2003)

Last week, the management representative of Company M, which mentioned in Changes of certification bodies (Jan.2w, 2003) in Scenes of assessments of this Home page, E-mailed to me that his company got the certification of ISO9001: 2000 with zero nonconformity. The change of certification body has become successful.

The company first got the certification of ISO9002: 1994 in January of 2002. At that time a consultant who was once a quality manager of a big company that had Deming Prize, came to the company and tried to install a Deming Prize style system.
Deming Prize systems had been famous for their heavy documentations.
Company M was a small company with about thirty people working. Therefore the system to be installed was not fit to the company and as a result there had been many quarrels between the consultant and the management representative.
Anyhow the company got the certification, but with heavy documentations and heavy maintenance cost.

With the transition to 2000 version, the company decided to change to a lean system and introduced my concept.
But in order to change to a lean system, the company found the necessity of change of certification bodies that would do fair assessments.
The detailed story of the selection of the body is written in Changes of certification bodies: Part 2 (Feb.3w,2003).

I noticed in the backgrounds of the success backups of the president of the company who had a solid policy to get ISO9001 with efficient system through fair assessments.
