If you want to understand ISO9001: 2000 well, it will be helpful
to refer to relevant Standards such as QS9000(ISO/TS16949)and ISO140001:1996.
- QS9000(ISO/TS16949)
QS9000(ISO/TS16949)has made based on ISO9001:2000 and has about
additional "shalls" to 136 shalls of ISO9001: 2000 to satisfy requirements
by car production sector.
Therefore additional "shalls" means they have no requirements in
ISO9001:2000.
As an example, in 7.5.3 clause of ISO9001: 2000, it requires that
where appropriate, the organization shall identify the product by
suitable means throughout product realization, but instead QS9000
requires in an additional "shall" that " where appropriate" shall
not apply.
This means ISO9001: 2000 has more flexibility allowed in the clause
than QS9000.
- ISO14001: 200x
ISO14001:1996 is under review by TC207 by 2005. An interim report
says that there will be the definition of " record". The definition
will be that information on results achieved or providing evidence
of activities performed.
But ISO9000: 2000 has the definition of record that document stating
results achieved or providing evidence of activities performed.
Therefore, the coordination will be done between TC176 and 207.
But I prefer to use the word of information rather than document,
because the definition in ISO9000: 2000 has contradiction described
in the following chart.
