1. Cell system
Japan now faces economic recession.
At the end of last year I saw TV program featuring how to solve the
economic recession and a member of Diet said that in order to solve
the problem one solution was to install "Cell system" which had been
effectively done in Europe.
Recently in a TV program in which several economists discussed how to
overcome the economic recession and a famous industrial consultant said
that "Cell system" was effective. And then another member of the panel
questioned for him if China installed the system then how to do with
the problem. The consultant could not answer.
" Cell system" is one element of Toyota production systems and originated
in Japan in 1960s. With worldwide expansion of excellent quality Japanese
cars, the system also spread rapidly, of course, in Japanese industry
and worldwide. In 1980s I visited a local auto-parts factory in Korea
and found it already installed Cell system.
In 2000 I visited six local small factories and four of them had done
the system. They learned the system in Japan or in U.S.A, which also
had learned from Japan.
Do Japanese forget their originated strong weapons? I think it is one
of causes of economic recession.
